Class Trip To See FROZEN
The Loomis Maple Homestead
Thank you Mr. and Mrs. Loomis for a fun field trip to your LOOMIS MAPLE HOMESTEAD! We have been learning in school how syrup is made and this trip brought our learning to life. Not only did we get to taste real sap and syrup, we got to check out the evaporator, look at the outside lines, and we even got to take home a -3/31/14piece of maple candy!-A delicious trip indeed.
A Royal Tea
On Thursday, March 20, 2014, our entire Pre-K enjoyed a royal tea party. We were so surprised to be joined by the cast of HCS Spring Musical, The Beauty and the Beast! As you can see, we had a great time-Thanks you to Miss Susan, Mrs. Sparber, Mrs. LaFrance, Mrs. Taube, Mrs Jacobsen, and all of the teachers of the cast for allowing them to join us. We cannot wait to see the play this weekend!
The Little Red Hen
Last week, Mrs. Rains came in the make bread with our class. It was a lot of steps, but we liked eating it best! After we engaged in several activities around the story The Little Red Hen, we acted in our very own version in a class play. What a fun week!

Gobble Gobble! Be thankful-we are in Pre-K!
Thank you to all of our Pre-K families and friends who joined us On Friday, 11-20 for our 3rd Annual Pre-K Brunch. What a nice way for us all to show these special kiddos how thankful we are for each and everyone of them. A big thanks to everyone for your generous contributions-YUMMY!
HCS and CNS Pre-Kers Support the Food Cupboard
Suzanne Collins from the Food Cupboard in Hamilton graciously invited us inside the food cupboard to teach us all about what it is and why it is so important to our community. We decided we could be "bucket fillers" by collecting donations in our Pre-K classrooms.
Third Grade Reading Buddies
This was our first week with our 3rd Grade Reading Buddies. Each week we will read and work together with Mrs. Jacobsen's third grader. How nice to know the "big kids" in our school!
THANK YOU HFD!
This week we have been learning all about fire safety and have to stay safe in an emergency. We took a field trip to Hamilton's fire department where Firefighter Ahmed taught us how to stop, drop, and roll, how to "stay low and go", and told us to make a fire plan with our families. Our favorite parts were seeing the gear and checking out the firetruck. Thank you HFD for your time and volunteerism!
SNOWCONES!! YUMMY!!
Our class is full of "BUCKET FILLERS"! (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A5R6-2m_qHk) We have a saying in our classroom, "When you do good things, good things happen to you". Today we got to enjoy snowcones because we filled our classroom bucket. What a yummy treat!
North Star Orchard
Our first field trip was great! We traveled to West Moreland to pick our own apples. We learned about how the apple trees look in all seasons, some different names of apples, and how bees are important to making apples grow. What a perfect day to spend outdoors with new friends and some of our favorite adults!
Way up high in the apple tree.
Two little apples smiled at me.
I shook that tree as hard as I could.
Down came the apples. MMMMMM...GOOD!
