So…what have we been up to?
-We learned how to print an upper case K. “Start at the smile. One big line down. Frog jump to the corner. Karate kick to the middle. Little line all the way down. “ Hand Writing Without Tears paper has a small smile in the top left corner.
-We learned about how maple syrup is made. We took down the snowflakes on our classroom tree and put up paper spots and sap buckets instead!
-We participate in Agriculture Literacy Week. With our Ag Buddies we read a book about where our food comes from.
-We made handprint kittens, cork stamped flowers, and added water to our sand table. What a fun way to explore.
Here are some fun ideas to practice letters and sounds:
- Make and ABC book-have your child brainstorm and draw as many pictures as they can with each letter and sound.
- Write the letters on a paper. Give your Pre-Ker a magazine and have them cut and match the letters.
- Fill a cookie sheet with a layer of salt and use a finger to write letters.
-Loomis Maple Homestead field trip. It has finally warmed up enough d
-We will be printing the letter A. (check out our website for a youtube tutorial)
-We’ll be looking for signs of spring. I actually am hopeful that Spring is here!
-Syrup tasting
